“When it comes to frame design, we take the lead from the art, not the
environment. The goal is to bring the art to life – to take
a piece to that next level.”
Known as the one who never says “it
can’t be done,” Ted constantly challenges the status quo in frame
design. He prides himself on keeping Junction Gallery one of the most
innovative – often developing solutions
that even our vendors haven’t used. The results are unique pieces
that customers are proud to own.
Ted’s long history in art and framing
began in the marketing department of a company who manufactured and
distributed wall décor in Minneapolis.
It was in that job that Ted first worked with artists in product
development, learned the value of building strong vendor relationships
and got involved with framing.
After moving to Peoria to start a
different business in the mid 1990’s, Ted followed his love of art and
bought Junction Gallery when it was offered for sale in early 1999.
The custom framing aspect of the
business is where Ted applies his talent and experience. Since many
of Junction Gallery’s design work relies on
“out of the box” thinking, he becomes key in the collaboration --
designing, building and altering existing frames and materials to
achieve a specific custom look.
